David has been called to a new calling that is quite time intensive as well. On Feb. 12th, he was sustained as the second assistant to the High Priest Group leader but he hasn't been released from his Cub Committee Chair calling yet, and this month is the Blue & Gold dinner, so he has been quite busy this past week. He will do great in his new calling. I has a lot of talents that he will be able to use as he serves in that capacity. He has been coasting for some time with Cub Committe Chairman, so it is good to see that he will have the opportunity to grow and stretch.
Jenni had her birthday on Feb. 10th. She turned the big 2-1. Wow, another one of my kids is now legally considered an adult. I am just getting too old. She spent the weekend with her boyfriend up at Bear Lake so we celebrated her birthday, Sunday evening with cake & ice cream and then Monday took her out for her birthday dinner. This year she chose, Olive Garden. We pretty much just gave her cash for her birthday present since she is still out of work and nothing has developed for her.
The big news is the birth of Cosette Leilani Steck on Feb. 17, 2012 she came early in the morning our time 7:14 am but in England it was 2:14 pm. Alyssa did the birth all natural. The delivery went rather quickly. She went in for a check up appt. at 10:30 am and they told her she was dialated to a 6 and they were going to admit her to the hospital. Less than 4 hours later, the baby had come. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 11 oz. Quite a bit bigger than her "big" sister, Sierra. She is 20" long and has LOTS of hair. Alyssa is much more at ease with her mother role this time around.
There it is for the record... 8 lbs. 11 oz.
Our trip to England is less than two weeks away now. With the birth of Cosette, I am really getting excited for the trip. We purchased our show tickets this weekend, for Wicked. We just need to reserve a hotel room for that night and we will be set.
We found new renters for our basement apartment rather quickly. They will be moving in this Saturday. This time instead of newlyweds, we have an older couple. They seem very nice and we are excited to have them as our neighbors. Craig & Sheri Battrick. They told us they would probably be renting from us for at least two years. That will be nice but we'll see if it really happens...
